Catherine Jones, LMFT
Therapist
Originally from Mississippi, Catherine has lived in many places across the US – Austin TX, Chicago, Los Angeles & Portland, OR – before she returned home to the Gulf Coast a few years ago. She attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate and graduate degrees, earning a Master’s in Women & Gender Studies. Later, she earned a Master’s in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark College in Portland OR.
Catherine’s approach to therapy focuses on honing in on one’s strengths and inherent gifts, coupled with evidenced-based practices, to bring about transformational and relational healing. She works with individuals, couples, and families. She has a particular passion for working with couples, teenagers/young adults, and in providing gender-affirming care.
Alysha Velez, LPC
Therapist
Growing up as a military child, Alysha has been able to call home across the globe and has called the gulf coast her home for the last several years. She attended St. John’s University in Queens, NY for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees, earning a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Alysha began her career working in downtown Manhattan centering around substance abuse conducting both group and individual therapy. After moving to the coast she transitioned to working with children and families both in the home and in the school system. Alysha’s approach to therapy is to provide a supportive and safe environment where open expression and exploration of thoughts and feelings can freely take place. As a Licensed Professional counselor her use of evidenced-based practices includes motivational interviewing, EMDR, and multiple behavior therapies. She works with individuals, couples, and families.
